That’s only part of it, Rep. McCarthy

U.S. House of Representatives Republican leader Kevin McCarthy is only partly right about the mission awaiting the House select committee’s probe into the 1/6 insurrection.

McCarthy today said the panel should concern itself only with why the Capitol security was so lacking and “how to prevent” such a riot from recurring.

Wrong, leader McCarthy!

There’s also this thing about what the 45th president knew at the time of the riot, what he didn’t do to call a halt to it and did he really have that conversation with McCarthy in which he told him that the rioters cared more about the Constitution than McCarthy did.

The terrorists who marched onto Capitol Hill on 1/6 to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election committed an insurrection against the government. House members and senators were doing their constitutional duty in certifying the election.

The House select panel is tasked with finding out all there is to learn about what happened, why it happened and, yes, how to prevent it from recurring.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy needs to stop obstructing the panel from doing its job and adhere to the oath he took to “defend and protect the Constitution,” which the insurrectionists sought on 1/6 to destroy.

  1. I don’t have a problem with your continuing rants on the so called insurrection. I just wish you’d stop using 1/6 as the label. By doing that, to me, your placing it as the same despicable act of 9/11. 9/11 is the only horrific historical event that I know of known by simply a date.

  2. Too bad. Gonna keep using 1/6 to identify what took place that day. When all is said about it we’re going to understand and be repulsed by the notion of a terrorist mob attacking our democratic process in the manner that occurred on 1/6. I accept that we didn’t suffer the loss of life that we did on 9/11. What happened on 1/6 was grave enough to hold a special infamous place in our nation’s history.

  3. And there was nothing “so-called” about what happened that day. We saw a mob seeking to overturn a free and fair election. That qualifies — in my eyes — as an insurrection.

  4. An insurrection is an attempt to overtake a government. How are you going to overtake a government without weapons? Also, the lady that was shot and killed while unarmed would have been called murder, at least by the media, had she been a liberal or a person of color.

On this, get off the high horse in thinking January 6th was anywhere near as dramatic and an act of terroristic aggression as 9/11. 9/11, the terrorist tried to destroy America.

  5. The January 6th attack on our Capital has closer to destroying American than 9/11. 9/11 United America. 1/6 further DIVIDED America.
BTW, how biased must you be to assume that the media would defend anyone that was breaking into the Senate Chambers during this, or God forbid, any other attack.
Conservatives are trying to overthrow our government with outlandish unproven lies and exaggerations.
