Release Epstein files now! All of ’em!

Where do we stand today in the yammering of the Epstein Files, which contain the names of some the nation’s biggest political hitters and their potential relationship with one of the more infamous pedophiles any of us have seen since The Flood?

Congressional Democrats have gotten the name of the final member of Congress to sign a discharge petition that would require release of the files. OK! What’s with the delay?

I am one patriotic American who wants to know whether the president of the United States had more than a passing aquaintance with the late Jeffrey Epstein. That’s the sole issue for me. I also do not believe that Donald Trump engaged in illegal sexual activity with one of Epstein’s underage female victims. Then again, I am basing my belief on the hope that we don’t have pedophile serving as POTUS.

Releasing all the Epstein files should tell us what we need to know. We have received dribs and drabs of info on Epstein, and many of his relationships. They include names like Trump, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.

We need to understand fully whether Donald Trump knew about the illegal deeds being done at Epstein’s behest … and then looked the other way.

Release the files … now!

Why Epstein matters

I have sought to come to grips with why the media continue to report on Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged relationship with Donald J. Trump. I have figured out why this story matters.

It matters because it could tell us about the relationships that the president of the United States kept not many years before he won election to the White House.

Epstein, of course, is dead, having hanged himself in a jail cell in New York City. His former girlfriend/accomplice is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex traffricking of underage girls.

The story revolves around the “Epstein files” and what they contain pertaning to Trump’s friendship with the hideous sex trafficker and child molester.

Do I think Trump took part in these hideous activities? No, I do not. Whether he did or didn’t, though, is not the point of finding out what’s in those files. What the public ought to know is this: Did the man who would run for POTUS hang around the seediest man alive and was he actually friends with an individual who he might have known to be the animal we know him to be?

Therein lies the media interest in this matter. It also cuts to the heart of why Democrats and some right-wing MAGA Republicans want this information released to the public. Trump calls it all a “hoax,” meaning he believes all those known victims of Epstein are liars. How does this individual look in the mirror after denigrating victims of sex crimes?

Don’t answer that. I know. He does it because he has zero conscience.

The conscience-free president of the United States finds himself in a tightening circle of evidence that he knew Epstein far more intimately than he’s letting on.

Do you remember when Sen. Barack Obama got pilloried because his preacher once cursed the United States over its slavery policy? Obama, who was running for president in 2008, issued a public statement rebuking the preacher — a longtime friend of his — and then quit attending the man’s church.

I can find no sign of such contrition coming from Trump. He blames the victims for fomenting a “Democrat hoax.” Meanwhile, the questions keep mounting and the public is beginning to ask: Did we really elect to the presidency an individual who would cozy up to scum such as this?

That’s why this story matters.

Epstein getting last laugh

Wherever he is roasting in hell where he belongs, Jeffrey Epstein must be laughing his sorry ass off at the tribulation that continues to dog his former pal Donald J. Trump.

I have to admit to enjoying the squirm and the wiggle Trump is employing to wriggle free of the connection he had with the serial child molester, sex trafficker and all-round despicable piece of dog dookey that was Epstein.

This scandal won’t go away for as long as Republicans maintain control of Congress and for as long as Trump hangs his hat in the Oval Office.

Trump won’t win any court battles. Congressional Democrats and a growing number of MAGA Republicans will keep the heat turned up demanding full release of those Epstein files that could reveal the extent of the friendship between the sex trafficker and the future president of the United States of America.

Am I worried that it will inhibit Trump’s ability to do his job? Not one damn bit. He isn’t doing a damn thing as it stands!

So … what about WH communications chief?

I am going to call attention briefly to an individual who hasn’t received a whisper of chatter in the boiling controversy over Jeffrey Epstein’s files and whether they should be released for public review.

I refer to the White House communications director. That’s right. Donald Trump hired a guy to serve as communications director for his second term as president. His name is Steven Cheung, a native of Sacramento, Calif. He played football at Cal State-Sacramento,  but didn’t earn a degree there. Hmm. More on that in a moment.

The communications director role is to control the information flow from the White House, to ensure it is consistent with whatever message the president wants to convey. The communications chief must work with the press secretary and all Cabinet staffers and White House staff to deliver a cogent, reliable message from the White House to the public.

The Jeffrey Epstein communications flow has been a cluster fu** of the first order. What in the hell has Steven Cheung been doing? The White House changes its tune about whether to release the information contained in the files pertaining to Epstein, the late child molester/sex trafficker and his relationship with Donald Trump. It vows to be “transparent,” then reneges on its pledge to reveal all the information it has on Epstein.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has told the media she informed Trump in May that his name is in the files. Trump then said he didn’t hear about it until June. Or maybe it was July. Shouldn’t the communications director be able to tell the president keep the story straight?

Cheung is not a seasoned communications professional steeped in political tradition. His earlier stint as commo director for the 2024 Trump campaign was riddled with blowups with the campaign media. He quit the White House during the first Trump term over a snit he had with White House chief of staff John Kelly.

It all seems connected to the revelation that Cheung didn’t complete his college degree at Cal State-Sacramento. He looks for all the world to me to be a throwaway appointment, a sycophant whose fealty to Trump made him preferable to others who well might have more actual experience keeping the lines of communication untangled.

So, as the White House stumbles, fumbles and bumbles its way through this Epstein matter, Americans are entitled to ask: What is the White House communications director doing during the daylight hours … because he has lost control of the narrative?

Let’s see if there’s nothing to see

Donald J. Trump’s administration is doing a marvelous job of pissing off its political base, not to mention the rest of the country.

It has done pirouettes around the question of whether to release information about convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s prison time and the friends he made while steering girls into prostitution. Trump said initially that he wanted the information released. He incurred the wrath of his loyalists, who don’t want the material released.

He then changed his mind, angering the MAGA cultists who have joined their more progressive antagonists in insisting that Trump release the info.

Trump’s team, though, says there’s “nothing to see.” Really?

Hey, here’s a thought: Why don’t you release the information and let the public determine whether there’s any substance to reports that Trump and Epstein were besties … and that includes reports that the future president of the United States might have been up to his armpits in criminal behavior.

Trouble in MAGA land? Awww!

There appears to be trouble brewing among the MAGA morons who comprise much of Donald Trump’s base of support.

It involves whether Trump should release information related to the late Jeffrey Epstein’s prison term after his conviction on charges involving sex trafficking and the selling of children into prostitution.

Trump at first said he would release the information to the public. Now he’s back away from that pledge. What’s more, he has pissed off the MAGA cabal that still seemingly adores this idiot.

I’m not entirely clear on why the MAGA cult wants the info released, other than there might be some dirt tossed on many of Trump’s political enemies. Epstein reportedly kept some sort of “black book” on people he serviced with young women. One of them might have been his pal … Donald John Trump.

Trump once said he wanted the information released. Now he’s cowering. The MAGA morons are angry with their guy.

Do I really care that the MAGA loons might be about to jump from the Trump ship that appears to be listing significantly in these roiling political waters? Not really. It does highlight one of the inherent problems that Trump has displayed ever since he entered political life in June 2015. It is his unwillingness to speak the truth.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a true-blue MAGA moron, wants Trump to release the information. Johnson has some supporters backing his insistence that the Epstein files are open to the public. What is Trump going to do? Beats the bejeebers out of me.

I do know that he is handing Democrats tons of ammo to use against him as they seek to regain control of Congress in 2026.

Hey! Come to think of it … that’s why I care about this brewing conflict!

See ya, Prince Andrew

I always have believed that when two parties settle out of court in a legal dispute in which one party accuses the other of doing something nasty or illegal, that the accused is — in a manner of speaking — acknowledging that he or she has done wrong.

So it is that Prince Andrew, son of Queen Elizabeth II, has agreed to pay a woman a hefty sum of money after she accused him of sexual misconduct with her. According to Reuters: The settlement by the 61-year-old Duke of York includes an undisclosed payment to Virginia Giuffre, a woman who had accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager. The settlement, revealed on Tuesday in a Manhattan court filing, said he had never intended to malign her character.

No way back for Prince Andrew after abuse settlement, royal watchers say (msn.com)

Well, I am going out on a limb here with this observation, but it appears to me that Prince Andrew’s time as a public member of the British royal family has come to a halt. Guiffre accused Andrew of having sex with her as part of some sex orgy orchestrated by Jeffrey Epstein, the hideous sex trafficker.

Her Majesty the Queen already has stripped her son of his military rank and his standing as a spokesman for assorted charitable causes. Why did she do that? My hunch is that QEII believed the accusation leveled against Andrew. So, she acted proactively.

Now comes the settlement. Andrew must not have wanted this matter to go to trial for reasons that seem quite clear: He didn’t want any public testimony that details what he allegedly did to/with this young woman.

He denies ever meeting her. Oh, but wait! There’s that picture of the two of them; in the background is Ghislaine Maxwell, former girlfriend of the late Jeffrey Epstein, who hanged himself in a New York City jail cell in 2019.

Goodbye, Prince Andrew. Your 15 minutes of fame have expired.

Andrew gets defrocked

It looks for all the world as though we could be watching a one-time prominent member of the world’s pre-eminent royal family being excommunicated in real time, sent to the proverbial woodshed and given a public battering from his mother, her Majesty the Queen of England.

Queen Elizabeth II has stripped Prince Andrew, her second-oldest son, of his military rank and removed him from all his charitable causes. This is in reaction to the stunning news of his alleged involvement with an underage girl who claims Andrew had sex with her “multiple times” while she was being, um, “handled” by a notorious sex trafficker, the late Jeffrey Epstein.

I have no way on Earth in knowing what’s going through Her Majesty’s mind about this, but my gut and my trick knee tell me her decision to bust Andrew of his military standing and take his charitable causes away is based on her belief in the allegations that have been leveled against her son.

The end game? He’s likely done as a working member of Great Britain’s royal family. I doubt seriously at this moment that we’re going to see Prince Andrew attending any public functions involving the royals … ever again!

What lies ahead for the fallen prince? He is being sued by Epstein’s victim. He could challenge the lawsuit and possibly lose. Or he could settle out of court, which to my way of thinking is an admission of some level of guilt.

Either way, Andrew is likely finished.

Hey, Andrew … so long!

As a general rule I don’t normally give a rat’s rear end about Britain’s royal family, but this growing awareness of one of the royals’ involvement with a convicted sex predator has me curious and wondering whether he is ever going to redeem what is left of his shattered reputation.

Stand up, Prince Andrew. I am talking about you!

Andrew is a reported friend of Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of the late predator Jeffrey Epstein. A jury found Maxwell guilty of multiple counts of sex trafficking. Jurors believed the testimony of young women who said that Maxwell conned them into sexual encounters involving Epstein when they were underage girls.

Epstein strung himself up in a New York City jail cell in 2019. Maxwell is about to pay a steep price for her involvement with him; but what about her involvement with Andrew?

Another woman has come forward to allege that she and Andrew had sex multiple times when she, too, was a girl. Andrew denies it. Sort of. He said he didn’t have a “sexual encounter.” Does that deny any form of intimacy? Hmm. Maybe not.

The royal family has pushed Queen’s second-oldest son aside. He is taking no part in any public activities involving the royals. My hunch — and that’s all I have — is that Her Majesty the Queen and those closest to her believe the worst about the heir to the throne.

I get that the world maintains a fascination with the British royal family. Andrew has been in full public view his entire life. Now, though, the world is seeing another side of Prince Andrew’s alleged former life.

It ain’t pretty.

Verdict: Maxwell is a sex trafficker too!

Just about the time you think we might have a hung jury unable to deliver a verdict in a high-profile trial … we get a verdict in a high-profile trial.

Ghislaine Maxwell, the one-time girlfriend and accomplice to the late millionaire sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, is now a convicted sex trafficker herself.

A jury delivered the news to Maxwell today after five days of deliberation.

Is this the right verdict? Based on what I know — which admittedly isn’t much — it looks as though justice has been delivered. Jurors accepted the testimony that Maxwell assisted Epstein in his quest for young girls with whom he had sex or who he peddled for sex with others.

It was ghastly and gruesome testimony to be sure. As USA Today reported: The verdict capped a monthlong trial featuring sordid accounts of the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 14, told by four women who described being abused as teens in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s palatial homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico.

Epstein, who was jailed a couple of years ago on sex charges, hanged himself in his New York City jail cell. The world is better off without him staining it with his presence.

Maxwell faces a lengthy prison sentence. My hope is that she gets the maximum.

Oh, and unlike the reaction delivered by Donald Trump when he heard about her arrest in 2019, I do not “wish her well.” I wish her nothing but misery.
