How does one process the action on the first day of his return to high office … other than to recognize that Donald J. Trump delivered on a campaign promise.\
Just after taking the oath as POTUS, Trump pardoned roughly 1,500 of the traitorous goons who stormed the nation’s Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election that Trump lost to President Biden.
It was arguably the darkest day in the history of our republic. Thousands of people stormed the Capitol that day, waging hand-to-hand combat with police officers seeking to protect members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence from the anger emanating from the assailants.
Americans never in our history had witnessed such a flagrant attack on the very system of government we say we cherish.
Well, Trump called the prisoners “hostages” and issued blanket pardons to them.
Utterly and completely disgusting and abhorrent to those of us who value the rule of law.
This American patriot — that would be me — am simply astonished at what transpired after the inauguration.
Donald Trump has just legitimized a clear and present act of treason against the government he swore to defend and protect.
I’ll have more to say on the other executive orders Trump issued, but first … I need to catch my breath.
The ones he pardoned were no more than tourists trespassing. He did not pardon those that performed violent acts. The ones he pardoned served a hell of a lot for trespassing. That can’t be said for those that rioted and burned the streets and you democrats said they were peaceful protesters. Get real and focus on something that really matters.
I got your email. Horse shit is correct. The majority should have never been charged.
Now, I don’t see my original comment. I guess it’s been removed.
it’s still posted.
It miraculously reappeared.
You’re worried about people that took liberty and trespassed in the capital but are perfectly fine with Biden’s preemptive pardons for his family and the specific pardon dates for Fauci? What a damn hypocrite!
Just so we are clear, I’m NOT supporting the pardon for those that actually did participate in violent acts. I’m okay with pardons for those that have served their time for trespassing and low level obstruction. Some have been in prison for three to four years for paying an officer. They’ve paid their penalty. Again, those that actively participated in violent acts, should NOT be pardoned.
BJ-
You might want to get up to speed.
Trump pardoned all of the J6 goons and commuted the sentences of a couple of violent Proud Boys.
What Biden did with most of his pardons was egregious.
Trump and the Republicans who supposedly stand for law and order are once again proving to be complete hypocrites.
Some of these felons attacked police officers- some of the current officers protecting the Capitol that day are still there on duty.
What an incredibly traitorous act Trump just committed against them.
The biggest con who ever lived- back in office.
Lord have mercy.
DM,
You need to ge tip to speed. He DID NOT pardon those that attacked any officers or direct destruction of property.
Biden pardoned DEATH ROW inmates. How do you think they became death row inmates, by jaywalking?
DM,
You question the pardons, wrongly, but don’t question why democrats destroy evidence of J6? What are they hiding?
BJ
Biden did not pardon death row inmates- he committed their sentences to life in prison.
As a pro life Catholic , I’m opposed to the death penalty.
I believe it dehumanizes a person made in God’s Holy image. Also- due to the faults in our justice system, innocent people have been put to death.
You may want to research the emotional trauma experienced by those who actually put the inmates to death.
Those in prison for life are not a threat to us.
I’m very happy Biden commuted those sentences.
