President-elect Biden is a far better man than I am.
Someone shoved a microphone in his face the other day to ask him to react to Sen. Mitch McConnell’s belated recognition that Biden, indeed, is the president-elect.
Biden’s response caught me by surprise. He said he had spoken with the Senate majority leader and thanked him for his congratulations … and then pledged to work closely with him on areas where the two men can find agreement.
What might my reaction be? It wouldn’t be nearly as magnanimous. For that matter, Donald Trump damn sure wouldn’t have been as gracious had he been the target of the well-chronicled suspicion that GOP politicians have leveled at the Democratic president-elect.
McConnell stood behind some phony excuse about letting the “process play out” before recognizing the obvious, which is that Joe Biden defeated Trump in the Nov. 3 election. After the Electoral College certified Biden’s win, only then did McConnell speak from the Senate floor to congratulate the president-elect.
Fiddlesticks, man!
I think you’re going to find that Biden isn’t the man you’ve always thought he was. I personally know someone that was very close to Biden years ago. This man worked for the government in a high capacity all over the world. We’ve spoken several times about Biden. Biden once asked him to work with him on one of his Senate campaigns. He politely denied knowing they didn’t have the same believes on what this country needs. He told about several character flaws, without going into details, that is completely opposite of the Biden we’ve heard/seen in the MSM. He gave little details as he’s an honorable man. Of course I won’t ever mention what when did say. It was said in confidence and not my story to share. But, I trust the man. He served our country for more than 30 years. He and his family were held hostage at one point in his serving. His family and the Biden’s where friends at some point. For all I know, they still could be. We’ve lost touch since our son’s have moved to various parts of the country.
