Tulsi Gabbard, the one-time “far-left Democrat” who switched parties and then backed Donald Trump’s candidacy for POTUS, is the new director of national intelligence.
It’s fair to ask: What would Republicans think of her had she been nominated as DNI by a Democratic president? Today she garnered 52 of 53 GOP votes in the U.S. Senate, with only Mitch McConnell of Kentucky showing a semblance of courage in bucking his party.
Yep, make no mistake that the MAGA wing of the Republican Party — led by the aforementioned POTUS — has taken complete control of a once-great political organization.
Gabbard has no business leading the 18 intelligence-gathering agencies under her command. She cozies up to dictators, such as Vladimir Putin, despite the Russian thug’s illegal and immoral war in Ukraine. She once called whistlebower Edward Snowden a traitor but now wants him pardoned for his treasonous acts.
She is as unreliable a Cabinet official as one can imagine. What’s more, her unreliability puts all of us — you and me — in dire peril.
Today was a dark and dangerous day with Gabbord’s confirmation.
Nice opinion. Too bad it’s not based on facts. Pretty standard for you. Kind of like Musk, you guys thought these folks were great until they started supporting Trump. Then, instantly started bashing. Way to follow the narrative.

The his sums it up perfectly.
You own a store. Your store gets robbed.
Elon looks at the video footage of the robbery and tells you who did it. Now, you want to arrest Elon.
BJ-
A more apt description is – your house gets robbed- Elon- without your permission – gets possession of the video tape.
Elon then proceeds to cut off your video security cameras , goes into your home while you are away- steals what is left- then fires you from the job you’ve held at the post office for thirty years.
He’s not done- he gets some racist teeny year olds to burn down your house.
He then receives a non bid contract from the City to rebuild your home and charges it to the taxpayers.
He finds loop holes in the tax system he helped write- and pays no taxes on the huge profits he made as the contractor.
But the best part is this- it’s your house BJ – and you cheer him on and praise him because you’ve been told he’s the smartest man in the world.
And you have close ‘ friends ‘ in Washington that are making you believe all of this is good.
That is funny and sad all at the same time.
DM,
Now that’s some funny shit! Shows you are a puppet to the mainstream media. Reach out a little. Talk to people that work in DC, or at least have connections to DC.
You had an open mind during the campaigns. As soon as Trump was elected, you went full tilt TDS. Good luck to you. Hang in there. Everything will be just fine.
You will – not may — encounter narcissistic people.
They will often wield considerable power. Because power, rather than love or meaning, is their source of emotional nourishment, they learn early in life how to acquire and use power. Since they rarely have an interior life, they do not second-guess themselves. They quickly intuit what is best for them and act decisively to move their world toward that outcome.
These character traits serve them well and attract the attention of others. In emergencies, furthermore, an intelligent narcissist may be what the moment requires. Calm, order, and peace – which most of us want – sucks the energy out of a narcissist. For that reason, a narcissist creates a crisis where none exists because crisis requires decisive, rather than reflective leadership.
These are the ways a narcissistic parent, pastor, CEO, manager, gang leader, or dictator operate. Whenever possible, one should escape their orbit. Don’t fuss with them, reason with them, or confront them – just bide your time and get away. Some narcissists will go to great lengths to destroy you, whether or not you have done them harm, simply because you are aware of their game.
When you can’t escape, you must work to keep them out of your head. Narcissists rewrite reality for those they influence, provoking even intelligent and seasoned people to doubt their own sanity. They spin so many plates, tell so many contradictory stories, that stable people can’t keep up. After a while, up may start appearing like it is down, white looks like black, wrong feels like right. You must, therefore, develop strategies for maintaining your grip on truth, reason, and decency.
Maintaining other sources of information than those in collusion with the narcissist gives one at least another perspective to consider.
For those without power, confronting the narcissist doesn’t work. They are unmoved by reason, compassion, or appeals to the long view of things. They simply want what they want, when they want it, the way they want it. All who disagree with any of that become their enemies, even if they have up to that point been allies. If you are without power, remain silent unless the issue is so contrary to your morals and ethics that silence becomes an expression of cowardice.
Then, if you are compelled to speak, prepare for the consequences. Only time will reveal if you were a fool or a saint.
A narcissist will, for a season, destroy the power base of everyone else, including that of close allies. That way, everyone will depend on the favor of the narcissist to get anything done. Those with some form of power or influence that is independent of the narcissist’s control will be in danger and so must hide their power until such a time it becomes necessary to reveal it.
Narcissists rarely survive the chaos that they have created. It nearly always destroys them in the end. Until that occurs, a wise person paces himself, deepens his inner life, watches his tongue, and quietly prepares for the future after the narcissist has burned everything down.
No complex organization can tolerate a narcissist forever because he will dismantle the structures that maintain its values and functionality. Therefore, either the narcissist will utterly destroy the organization, or will cause so much pain that the organization will rise up and resist him. In either case, one must observe where the organization is in that process and plan accordingly.
Finally, for a Christian, it is possible to live in alignment with an entirely different source of meaning and power than the one managed and driven by the narcissist. That is why early Christians said, “Christ is the Lord.” That meant that Caesar was not the Lord.
The Hebrews had that same source of stability, which is why the stories of Daniel and the three Hebrew children are so powerful.
The Biblical principle is to obey even a narcissistic leader in every way that does not contradict the law and ways of God. For a Christian, that includes not only the Ten Commandments, but the Beatitudes and other teachings of the New Testament. As Thomas Moore said to the king, “I am the king’s faithful servant, but God’s first.”
Our lives are short. Our wisdom is limited. Our room to maneuver is often restricted. Getting worked up and embittering our own lives doesn’t affect the narcissist but rather poisons our spirit. Don’t get sucked into the sinkhole the narcissist has created for those who oppose him.
Keep your head.
Guard your peace.
Bide your time.
Pace yourself.
Outlast the crap.
