{"id":58198,"date":"2025-03-05T00:06:03","date_gmt":"2025-03-05T00:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=58198"},"modified":"2025-03-05T00:06:03","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T00:06:03","slug":"no-more-gop-town-halls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=58198","title":{"rendered":"No more GOP town halls?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n<p>The scaredy-cats who run the Republican Cowardly Congressional Caucus have put the word out.<\/p>\n<p>The word to GOP members of Congress is:<em> Do not conduct any more town hall meetings in your congressional districts because your constituents are too angry with Donald Trump and his sidekick Elon Musk.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To a person, the RCCC members seem to be following the dictates of the cowards who tell them how high to jump.<\/p>\n<p>GOP members have been getting snootfuls from their constituents angry over the massive budget slashing, the firing of inspectors general, the gutting of USAID capabilities around the world and Trump&#8217;s abandoning of Ukraine as it seeks to defend against the invaders from Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Trump this week announced the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine &#8230; while it is in the middle of a bloody ground war against the Russian army. Why? Because Trump thinks he&#8217;ll be able to get a better deal for the Russians if the Ukrainians are rendered incapable of killing thousands more Russian troops.<\/p>\n<p>It is a load of pure horsesh** that Trump is peddling. Make no mistake that the congressional cowards&#8217; constituents know a monumental betrayal of a valuable ally when they see one.<\/p>\n<p>And they are witnessing one now in real time being orchestrated by the Oval Office.<\/p>\n<p>What the GOP cowards do not seem to appreciate is that the Constitution&#8217;s guarantee of free speech allows for anyone to protest the government. It does not restrict these town halls just to audiences friendly to the political party in power. &#8220;<em>Representing all the people&#8221;<\/em> means precisely what the phrase states explicitly.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, all the people deserve to have their voices heard.<\/p>\n<p>Especially when it makes the men and women in power squirm.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The scaredy-cats who run the Republican Cowardly Congressional Caucus have put the word out.
