Mark Sanford wants to serve in the House of Reps once again and he\u2019s released the first of the campaign to win back his old House seat.<\/p>\n<p>Here it is:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/340930\/mark-sanford-debuts-first-ad-we-all-make-mistakes-eliana-johnson\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/340930\/mark-sanford-debuts-first-ad-we-all-make-mistakes-eliana-johnson\">http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/340930\/mark-sanford-debuts-first-ad-we-all-make-mistakes-eliana-johnson<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He tacitly admits to making \u201cmistakes.\u201d Well, he made a major blunder on two horrendous levels. One was that he cheated on his wife, with whom he took a <em>sacred vow<\/em> not to do for as long as they both shall live. The second mistake was lying to the world about where he was over Father\u2019s Day Weekend 2009. His staff said he was hiking along the Appalachian Trail when in fact he was in Argentina frolicking with his girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>Did he instruct his staff to lie or did he just lie to them and force them tell falsehoods unknowingly? It doesn\u2019t matter. The man duped the public.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Malkin, one of the nation\u2019s more fiery conservative columnists, tweeted today that Sanford \u201cmakes me want to throw up.\u201d He treats his \u201cadultery and humiliation of his family like a typo,\u201d Malkin said in her tweet. <\/p>\n<p>Malkin is justified in her nausea. Sanford made far more than a simple \u201cmistake.\u201d And now, in this TV ad, he invokes God\u2019s grace and benevolence as a tool to cultivate votes. \u201cWe all make mistakes,\u201d Sanford says in the ad.
