Y’all have said it, and I damn sure know you’ve heard it … which is that “There’s a first time for everything.”<\/em><\/p>\n

I have experienced one of those “first time” events.<\/p>\n

I went Christmas shopping in Allen and — get ready for it — I actually enjoyed the experience.<\/em><\/p>\n

OK, I equate Christmas shopping to conducting a “surgical strike.” I identify the product I want to purchase and the person for whom I am purchasing it. I then identify the retail outlet where I can make the purchase.<\/p>\n

Then I launch my strike. I go to the store, find the product, make the purchase. Then I leave. No muss, fuss or confusion!<\/p>\n

To be fair, though, I had some help today when I launched my strike, er, went shopping. I received a tip on the gifts I needed to find. It turned out the tip was doable.<\/p>\n

So … I did it.<\/p>\n

Here we are, with more than two weeks to go before Christmas and I have the bulk of my holiday shopping done!<\/p>\n

Who’da thunk it possible?<\/p>\n\n
