Jeb Bush, R-Fla., got his hackles up this morning when \u201cMeet the Press\u201d host David Gregory asked him about his possible \u2013 or perhaps probable \u2013 run for the presidency in 2016.<br \/>\u201cMan, you guys are crack addicts,\u201d Bush responded.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/video\/campaign\/287211-jeb-bush-calls-media-crack-addicts-over-2016-presidential-race-speculation-\" title=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/video\/campaign\/287211-jeb-bush-calls-media-crack-addicts-over-2016-presidential-race-speculation-\">http:\/\/thehill.com\/video\/campaign\/287211-jeb-bush-calls-media-crack-addicts-over-2016-presidential-race-speculation-<\/a><br \/>He said the press has an \u201cobsession\u201d with his future political plans. <br \/>My own reaction is, well, yeah governor. What <em>is<\/em> your point? The media pay reporters and commentators to speculate on these things and everyone with half an interest in politics in this country knows that Jeb Bush is entertaining the idea of seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. It\u2019s in his genes. Jeb knows it. So does his father, the 41st president, as does his brother, the 43rd president. Even the ex-Florida governor\u2019s son, George P. Bush, is likely to jump into Texas politics next year as he makes a run for a still-undisclosed statewide office.<br \/>Bush should know better than anyone that the only way to dispel this kind of discussion is to declare categorically he won\u2019t run \u2013 ever \u2013 for president. Jeb won\u2019t take that leap because, well, maybe he, too, is a \u201ccrack addict\u201d who cannot wean himself of the political limelight.<br \/>Absent that kind of denial, the media would be derelict in their duty if they didn\u2019t ask him the obvious questions about his political future.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former\u00a0Gov.
