{"id":51085,"date":"2022-04-04T02:24:47","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T02:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=51085"},"modified":"2022-04-04T02:24:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T02:24:47","slug":"blunt-said-this-about-kbj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=51085","title":{"rendered":"Blunt said this about KBJ?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Roy Blunt, the lame-duck Republican U.S. senator from Missouri, said some strange things about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson today while being interviewed on ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>Blunt said Jackson\u2019s expected confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court will be a \u201chigh point\u201d in U.S. history; he said she is well qualified; that she has a good educational background; that it is past time for the SCOTUS to have an African American woman among its ranks; that she has a good legal mind.<\/p>\n<p>Then he said he will vote \u201cno\u201d on her confirmation. Why? Because of her judicial philosophy.<\/p>\n<p>Good grief!<\/p>\n<p>It was a bizarre recitation that exhibited Blunt\u2019s political cowardice as he prepares to retire from the Senate at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>I cannot recall ever hearing someone say so many positive things about a political appointee before declaring he wouldn\u2019t support that person to the seat to which she has been nominated.<\/p>\n<p>Weird.
