{"id":51054,"date":"2022-03-30T00:49:52","date_gmt":"2022-03-30T00:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=51054"},"modified":"2022-03-30T00:49:52","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T00:49:52","slug":"let-the-ag-do-his-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=51054","title":{"rendered":"Let the AG do his job"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Congressional Democrats are grumbling about the pace that Attorney General Merrick Garland is setting as he considers whether to indict The Donald for alleged crimes committed during the transfer of power from the Trump administration to the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>And whether The Donald committed crimes by, oh, inciting the insurrection and blocking efforts to allow the winner of the 2020 presidential election to take power as prescribed by the U.S. Constitution \u2026 the document that The Donald has never read, nor understands.<\/p>\n<p>I believe we ought to let the AG do his job at the pace he determines is fitting for what he intends to accomplish.<\/p>\n<p>Garland has pledged \u2014 and I believe he is an honorable man \u2014 to follow the law wherever it leads him. If he has enough to prosecute the former POTUS, he is going to do it. He won\u2019t be swayed, he said, by political favor or by public opinion.<\/p>\n<p>The grumbling among Democrats is intended, I believe, to push Garland to speed the process along.<\/p>\n<p>Give it a rest, eh? The attorney general is a seasoned, experienced and fair-minded legal pro. Do I want there to be enough to prosecute Donald J. Trump? Absolutely, I do.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not my call.
