So did our water supply.<\/p>\n<p>We aren\u2019t nearly as cold in this third week of January 2022 as we were in the middle of February 2021, so I am not sitting on pins and needles \u2026\u00a0<em>just yet.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gov. Greg Abbott has promised that the lights will \u201cstay on\u201d this winter. So has the head of the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Ditto for the folks who run the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the agency that manages our state\u2019s power grid.<\/p>\n<p>All I can say at this moment is: It had better hold up! Or else!<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t what the \u201cor else\u201d would produce. I just know that we\u2019re still less than halfway through the winter season. Last year was a serious downer.
