But it needs to be uber-selective in who it wants to face off.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/media\/2013\/04\/cnn-looking-to-relaunch-crossfire-160968.html?hp=r9\" href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/media\/2013\/04\/cnn-looking-to-relaunch-crossfire-160968.html?hp=r9\">http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/media\/2013\/04\/cnn-looking-to-relaunch-crossfire-160968.html?hp=r9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll recall that \u201cCrossfire\u201d was a debate show that pitted a liberal against a conservative. Pundit v. pundit. Rightie v. leftie. The network has had some stellar folks on both sides of the table.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite conservative probably was Pat Buchanan, the former speechwriter for President Richard Nixon and one-time communications director for President Ronald Reagan. The man is glib and clever.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite liberal? I\u2019ll go with Paul Begala, the former policy wonk who served President Bill Clinton. Begala is a Texan who\u2019s just as quick-witted as Buchanan.<\/p>\n<p>Begala still can be found on CNN as a \u201ccontributor\u201d and \u201cpolitical analyst.\u201d Buchanan\u2019s been bouncing a round a bit over the years. He\u2019s now with the Fox News Channel after MSNBC let him go about a year or ago.<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn\u2019t mind seeing them square off on the new \u201cCrossfire.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>But I don\u2019t want to have the last word on that one. Any ideas out there on who you would like to see on this news show? Talk to me.
