I’ve been called out. Someone who reads this blog has scolded me for my continuing criticism of Donald John Trump.<\/p>\n

This individual — who I don’t know personally or even through social media — said I’d still “bitch about it” if the president “gave every family one million dollars.”<\/p>\n

Why, I never …<\/p>\n

I wouldn’t “bitch”<\/em> about it. I’d merely wonder where he’s getting the money. I would presume, for instance, that he’d pay us all with public money. Meaning tax money collected by the Internal Revenue Service from every taxpaying American.<\/p>\n

Then I would question whether the U.S. Treasury could afford to part with the money, given that we already have rolled up this massive debt of $20 trillion, which figures to grow even more as the Trump-Congressional Republican tax cut kicks in.<\/p>\n

That’s one option.<\/p>\n

Then there’s the other one, which would be that Trump could hand out the money from his hu-u-u-u-u-ge<\/em> fortune built through real estate wheeling and dealing. Didn’t he insist during the 2016 presidential campaign that he’s “really rich”? Of course he did!<\/p>\n

If Trump were to dig deeply into his pockets for private money he’d like to distribute to the unwashed masses he governs, well … I wouldn’t complain one single bit.<\/p>\n

I’d like to see the president’s tax returns, though, to ensure<\/em> that he acquired the money legitimately.<\/p>\n\n
