The crackpot dictator of a highly militarized regime then threatens to strike your home. The president of the United States calls <em>ostensibly<\/em> to offer you support.<\/p>\n<p>Then you hear the president say something about how a possible nuclear missile attack could &#8220;boost tourism&#8221; on your island.<\/p>\n<p>Guam Gov. Eddie Calvo fielded a call from Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/guam-governor-says-trump-told-him-north-korea-threats-will-increase-tourism\/ar-AApViAw?li=BBmkt5R&amp;ocid=spartandhp\">New York Times <\/a>reported a portion of the call:\u00a0Mr. Trump said: \u201cI have to tell you, you have become extremely famous all over the world. They are talking about Guam; and they\u2019re talking about you.\u201d And when it comes to tourism, he added, \u201cI can say this: \u201cYou\u2019re going to go up, like, tenfold with the expenditure of no money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t stop laughing. The president is just killin&#8217; it, don&#8217;t you think?<\/p>\n<p>The president did say &#8220;we are with you 1,000 percent.&#8221; I hope that gives the governor some comfort. To be fair, Gov. Calvo didn&#8217;t seem disturbed by the seemingly flippant tone of the president&#8217;s call.<\/p>\n<p>But really, Mr. President? <em>Tourism<\/em> is on your mind as you and Kim Jong Un continue to rattle the world with your reckless threats against each other?<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You&#8217;re the governor of a remote U.S. territory.
