{"id":12040,"date":"2015-12-16T21:54:16","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T21:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=12040"},"modified":"2015-12-16T21:55:01","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T21:55:01","slug":"affluenza-teen-may-be-in-trouble-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/?p=12040","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Affluenza&#8217; teen may be in trouble again"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/beer-pong.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12041\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12041\" src=\"https:\/\/highplainsblogger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/beer-pong.png\" alt=\"beer pong\" width=\"279\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The case of Ethan Couch introduced America to a new term: affluenza.<\/p>\n<p>It was coined by a psychologist who testified in Couch&#8217;s defense after the then-16-year-old Fort Worth teenager got roaring drunk, climbed into a motor vehicle and then killed four people and injured several others, at least two of them critically.<\/p>\n<p>Couch dodged some serious prison time and received a probated sentence and was ordered to participate in a drug rehab program.<\/p>\n<p>The psychologist had argued that Couch&#8217;s wealthy parents had enabled the boy&#8217;s behavior and, therefore, the youngster wasn&#8217;t totally responsible for what he did that night.<\/p>\n<p>The state had sought to put the boy behind bars for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>Now it turns out that the cops are looking for Couch, who&#8217;s now 18, after a video surfaced that seems to reveal he is participating in a game of &#8220;beer pong,&#8221; which is a game involving participants hitting a ball into a cup and then drinking the contents of whatever cup the ball lands.<\/p>\n<p>Sound like fun? Uhh, not really.<\/p>\n<p>The issue, though, is whether Couch has violated the terms of his probation, which was for 10 years and which prohibits him from drinking alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Did I mention that Couch&#8217;s blood-alcohol content was three times the legal limit for an adult at the time of his horrific accident?<\/p>\n<p>The nation was shocked by the stunningly lax sentence handed down in that Tarrant County courtroom in 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/%e2%80%98affluenza%e2%80%99-teen-whose-drunk-driving-killed-4-back-in-trouble-after-beer-pong-video-posted-to-twitter\/ar-BBnCKal?li=BBnb7Kz\">Something tells me<\/a> that when the police catch up with Evan Couch that the young man will get the justice he deserved when he killed those people in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=jkanelis\" class=\"twitter-share-button\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The case of Ethan Couch introduced America to a new term: affluenza.
