I heard that this morning on &#8220;Face the Nation.&#8221; I&#8217;m still trying to process her logic.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic presidential candidate answered a question about the leading Republican candidates &#8212; Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson &#8212; given that they are political outsiders.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton then said something quite astonishing. Clinton said her gender makes her a supreme outsider.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/ballot-box\/presidential-races\/254315-hillary-whos-more-of-an-outsider-than-a-woman\">Outsider label<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see what the record shows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eight years as first lady during her husband&#8217;s two terms as president.<\/li>\n<li>Eight more\u00a0years as a U.S. senator from New York.<\/li>\n<li>Four years as secretary of state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OK, she&#8217;s run for president once already, getting closer than any woman in history to winning the presidential nomination of either party.<\/p>\n<p>Is she an &#8220;outsider&#8221; in the mold of, say, Trump, Fiorina and Carson? Not by my &#8212; or most folks&#8217;, I&#8217;m willing to reckon\u00a0&#8212; definition of the term.<\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;s been at or near the center of power in Washington going back to when President Bill Clinton took the oath of office in January 1993.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s 22 years!<\/p>\n<p>Outsider?
